Overview

The 2021 Suzuki DF60AVTL is the high-thrust version of Suzuki's acclaimed 60 hp four-stroke, using the same 941 cc three-cylinder DOHC 12-valve EFI powerhead but paired with a larger DF140A-type gearcase, a numerically taller 2.42:1 gear ratio and a big-diameter propeller. That combination delivers roughly 42% more forward thrust and dramatically more reverse thrust than the standard DF60, making it ideal for heavy pontoons, sailboats, work skiffs and other high-drag or heavy-displacement boats. This is a 20-inch long-shaft unit with power trim and tilt and electric start, set up for remote control, with a multi-function tiller also available, and a 19-amp alternator for electronics. Suzuki's Lean Burn control keeps it economical, and it is described as running and cooling perfectly. The extra thrust means it planes heavy loads more easily and holds better at trolling speed than a conventional 60.
