Overview
This is a pre-owned 2018 Yamaha VF150 V MAX SHO, the IBEX Award-winning inline-four that redefined high-performance four-stroke power for bass and bay boats. It uses a big-displacement 2.8-liter (2785cc) inline-four with DOHC 16-valve architecture, Variable Camshaft Timing (VCT) and electronic fuel injection to deliver an aggressive hole shot (a class-leading 7.7-second time to plane) and strong top-end speed. The engine is notably lighter than comparable two-strokes at about 486 pounds, turns a 1.86:1 gearcase, and pulls through a 5,300-6,300 rpm range with a 50-amp charging system for tournament electronics. This VF150LA is a 20-inch long shaft with mechanical controls for simple, precise rigging, plus power trim and tilt and electric start. It is a purpose-built performance outboard for bass boats, flats skiffs and lightweight center consoles that want big speed without big weight.
