Overview

This Yamaha F40 (model F40FEHDL) is a 40-horsepower four-stroke powered by a 747 cc in-line three-cylinder SOHC engine with multi-point electronic fuel injection. It is one of the lightest 40-horse four-strokes available at about 214 lb, yet the EFI powerhead delivers dependable starting, smooth idle and excellent fuel economy, with Yamaha's variable trolling RPM for precise slow-speed control. It runs a 5000-6000 rpm full-throttle range on a 2.00:1 gear ratio, starts electrically, and is configured as a 20-inch long shaft with a hydraulic power tilt cylinder and a deluxe multifunction tiller for hands-on control. A 16-amp alternator keeps the battery charged for electronics. Its light weight and torque make it ideal for aluminum fishing boats, jon boats, skiffs, inflatables and small pontoons.
