Overview
This Yamaha F25 (F25GMHS) is a 25 hp four-stroke powered by a 432 cc (26.4 cu in) in-line two-cylinder SOHC powerhead, configured here as a tiller-steer, manual-start, 15-inch short-shaft motor. It is the lightest and simplest way to get Yamaha's EFI reliability, using recoil start and manual tilt with no battery required for basic operation. Yamaha rates it for a 5,000-6,000 rpm full-throttle range through a 2.08:1 gearcase, giving crisp acceleration on lightweight hulls. At about 126 lb it is easy to carry and transom-mount, making it ideal for jon boats, small aluminum fishing boats, dinghies and inflatables. Electronic fuel injection delivers choke-free, reliable starting and better fuel economy than a carbureted equivalent, and the two-cylinder design runs smoothly for comfortable trolling.
