Overview

This Yamaha F25 (F25GMHL) is a 25 hp four-stroke built on a 432 cc (26.4 cu in) in-line two-cylinder SOHC powerhead, set up here with a tiller handle, manual start and a 20-inch long shaft for deeper transoms. The tiller layout makes it easy to steer and control at slow speeds, so it is well suited to trolling and close-quarters work. Yamaha rates it for a 5,000-6,000 rpm full-throttle range through a 2.08:1 gearcase, delivering strong, smooth acceleration on small boats. At roughly 128 lb it is light enough for one person to handle and mount, a good fit for aluminum fishing boats, utility skiffs, sailboats and inflatables. Its EFI system provides choke-free starting and economical running, and the twin-cylinder design keeps vibration low. It is a dependable, easy-to-own motor for anglers who prefer tiller control.
