Overview
This Yamaha F25 (F25GES) is a 25 hp four-stroke powered by a 432 cc (26.4 cu in) in-line two-cylinder SOHC powerhead, configured with electric start, remote-control steering and a 15-inch short shaft. It is a clean, convenient primary motor for small remote-steer boats, and its 16-amp alternator keeps a battery charged for lights and electronics. Yamaha rates it for a 5,000-6,000 rpm full-throttle range through a 2.08:1 gearcase for lively acceleration. At about 137 lb it is light for an electric-start EFI 25, making it easy to mount on aluminum fishing boats, small center consoles, inflatables and tenders. EFI provides push-button, choke-free starting and good fuel economy, and the two-cylinder layout idles smoothly for trolling. It is a versatile, dependable outboard for smaller hulls.
