Overview

The Tohatsu MFS60A is a 60-horsepower four-stroke built on a 998 cc in-line three-cylinder EFI powerhead, delivering strong low-end torque and smooth acceleration from one of the larger displacements in the class. Electronic fuel injection with dual intake valves, anodized pistons and roller rocker arms provides dependable starting, quiet operation and good fuel economy, and an adjustable trolling speed lets you set idle from roughly 650 to 950 rpm. It runs a 5000-6000 rpm full-throttle range on a 2.07:1 gear ratio, starts electrically, and is set up as a 20-inch long shaft with power trim and tilt and remote controls. At about 217 lb it is a lightweight, versatile choice for fishing boats, pontoons, small commercial vessels and general recreational use. A 22-amp alternator keeps electronics and batteries charged.
