Overview

The Tohatsu BFT250DUCRA is a 250-horsepower V6 four-stroke outboard built on a 3,583 cc (3.6L) 60-degree SOHC 24-valve powerhead, the same platform Honda supplies for its BF250. It breathes through programmed multi-point electronic fuel injection and uses variable valve timing to build strong low-end torque, turning 5,300-6,300 rpm at wide-open throttle through a 2.00:1 gear ratio. This particular unit is the counter-rotating 'CR' configuration on a 30-inch ('U', ultra-long) shaft, making it the opposed-prop complement in twin or triple installations where counter-rotation cancels steering torque. It starts electrically, carries power trim and tilt, and its 90-amp alternator keeps batteries and electronics charged on large offshore hulls. Water-cooled and rigged for mechanical remote steering, it runs on regular 87-octane fuel (91 recommended) and weighs roughly 620 pounds dry. It is a natural fit for big center-consoles, walkarounds and offshore multi-engine sportfishers. Inspected and sold with a clean bill of sale; freight-delivered.
