Overview

This is a pre-owned Tohatsu BFT225DXRA, a 225-horsepower four-stroke built on Honda Marine's 60-degree V6 powerhead. It displaces 3,583 cc through six cylinders with SOHC 24-valve VTEC breathing and programmed EFI, running in a 5,000-6,000 rpm range with a 2.00:1 gear ratio. The DXRA is the 25-inch (X) extra-long shaft, standard-rotation configuration with electric start, power trim and tilt and mechanical remote steering, and it weighs 600 lb. A high-output 90-amp alternator handles demanding onboard electronics. The taller transom setup suits offshore center consoles, deep-vee hulls and larger boats with high transoms, while the big-block V6 delivers strong torque for heavy loads.
