Overview

The Suzuki DF30A is a 30 hp four-stroke built on a 490 cc three-cylinder DOHC 12-valve powerhead with multi-point sequential electronic fuel injection, delivering strong torque and excellent fuel economy for its class. This unit is well equipped with electric start, power trim and tilt and remote-control steering, and rides on a long shaft, making it a versatile motor for small boats, inflatables and tenders. Suzuki rates it for a 5,300-6,300 rpm full-throttle range through a 2.09:1 gearcase, and its larger displacement gives it noticeably better hole-shot than many rival 30s. A 14-amp alternator keeps the battery charged for lights and a fishfinder, and at roughly 156 lb it is light enough to repower a wide range of hulls. Suzuki's Lean Burn control and proven reliability make it economical and dependable. It is a great all-around choice for fishing and utility use.
