Overview

The Evinrude E60DGTL is a 60-horsepower E-TEC outboard finished in Evinrude's graphite colorway and built around an in-line two-cylinder direct-injection two-stroke powerhead that displaces 863 cc (52.7 cu in). The E-TEC design fires a power stroke on every revolution, so it plans quickly and responds instantly to the throttle, while stratified low-rpm combustion and self-metered oil injection mean no oil changes and no dealer-scheduled maintenance for years of use. Rated at a 5500-6000 rpm full-throttle range with electric start and a 20-inch long shaft, it suits aluminum boats, pontoons, tiller skiffs and small fiberglass hulls rated up to 60 HP. An 81-amp total alternator (25 amps net dedicated) supplies plenty of charging for fish finders, livewells and lighting. The powerhead weighs about 240 lb, keeping it manageable on a mid-size transom. It is a clean, torquey mid-range motor that runs and cools correctly.
