Overview

This pre-owned Evinrude 55 HP (model E55MRL) uses an inline two-cylinder, 863 cc (52.7 cu in) direct-injection two-stroke powerhead and belongs to Evinrude's military-derived MFE/commercial series, incorporating the same injectors, fuel system, and onboard computer found in the E-TEC platform. That proven direct-injection technology delivers a power stroke on every revolution for strong pulling power and dependable operation across a 5500-6000 rpm range. This unit is configured as a long-shaft (20 in) motor with electric start and power trim and tilt. It needs no oil changes, no break-in, and no scheduled dealer maintenance for three years, and its onboard oil injection keeps operation simple. At roughly 240 lb it is a tough, reliable motor well suited to aluminum fishing boats, work and utility skiffs, and pontoons. It burns regular unleaded and is ready to put back into service.
