Overview

The Suzuki DF300AP is the flagship of Suzuki's four-stroke line, a 300-horsepower 55-degree V6 displacing 4,390 cc (4.4L) through a DOHC 24-valve powerhead fed by multi-point sequential electronic fuel injection. Its signature feature is Suzuki Selective Rotation, which lets a single lower unit run standard or counter-rotation, while an offset driveshaft and two-stage gear reduction (2.08:1) swing a big-diameter, high-thrust propeller. Suzuki Lean Burn control and Suzuki Precision Control drive-by-wire throttle and shift deliver strong fuel economy and crisp handling, and the engine turns 5,700-6,300 rpm at wide-open throttle. This 'L' model rides on a 20-inch shaft, starts electrically, carries power trim and tilt, and its 54-amp alternator supports demanding electronics. Water-cooled and best on 91-octane fuel, it weighs about 600 pounds dry and is built for offshore center-consoles, large bay boats and repower projects.
