Overview
This is a pre-owned 2018 Yamaha VF175 V MAX SHO, the top of Yamaha's inline-four SHO family and a favorite of tournament anglers for its combination of light weight and speed. It shares the 2.8-liter (2785cc) DOHC 16-valve inline-four powerhead with Variable Camshaft Timing and electronic fuel injection, tuned here for 175 horsepower and an even harder hole shot; Yamaha's testing clocked it at 62 mph with a tournament load, roughly five mph faster than its VF150 sibling. It weighs about 489 pounds, turns a 1.86:1 gearcase, spins to a 5,300-6,300 rpm range, and carries a 50-amp alternator for demanding electronics packages. This VF175LA is a 20-inch long shaft with mechanical controls, power trim and tilt and electric start for straightforward rigging.
