This 2018 Yamaha VF115 V MAX SHO (model VF115LA) is a high-performance 115-horsepower four-stroke powered by a 1832 cc (1.8-liter) in-line four-cylinder 16-valve DOHC engine with electronic fuel injection. It is Yamaha's fastest 115-hp four-stroke, capable of nearly 51 mph, using a long-track intake system, free-flow exhaust and a knock sensor to make aggressive power while staying about 10 lb lighter than a comparable two-stroke. It spins a 5300-6300 rpm full-throttle range through a 2.15:1 gear ratio, starts electrically, and comes as a 20-inch long shaft with power trim and tilt and mechanical remote steering. Yamaha lists a weight of 377 lb, and a 35-amp alternator supports a full electronics package. Its speed and hole-shot make it a favorite on bass boats, bay boats, flats skiffs and aluminum performance rigs. Fast, light and reliable, it is a premium repower for boats rated to 115 HP.
