Overview

The 2018 Evinrude E-TEC G2 225 H.O. (E225X) is a 225-horsepower flagship-generation outboard built on a 74-degree V6 displacing 3,441 cc (210 cu in) with advanced two-stroke direct injection. Engineered for big water and hard hole-shots, the G2 platform delivers best-in-class torque and acceleration, with a full-throttle range of 5,000-6,000 rpm and a 1.85:1 gear ratio. This 25-inch shaft unit features electric start, integrated Digital Shift & Throttle (iDST), integrated Dynamic Power Steering and power trim, plus a 133-amp total (50-amp net dedicated) charging system for demanding electronics loads. G2's no-scheduled-dealer-maintenance design and customizable cowl panels round out a package aimed at serious offshore use.
